Indian Government and their offices

The primary reason why the Indian Government never performs properly is due to a lack of drive and passion. Most politicians and bureaucrats join the Government to full fill personal gains. No wonder our country of a billion odd people does not go forward.........

I am undergoing my internship with the power corporation of the Karnataka Government. Over the past two weeks i have noticed a voluminous air of lethargy that fills the office. Also lack of a systematic and objective approach is lacking..... which is why private corporations do fairly better.

Since the organisation's primary role is to generate and provide power to the general public they have no inclination to make profits. I will not disclose the yearly turn over but it is rather poor. I do agree that their primary role is service, but a little bit of profit making will also help.

Most people in the office are very stereotyped and mechanical. They only work if ordered to, other wise just waste their time..... no wonder many people opt out for government Jobs...... they pay is not so great ..... but there is job security.

The modern world we live in demands radical and pragmatic ideas. In this organisation old ideas are still persistent. At times many employees spend an hour of efficient work. The rest would involve hours of gossip, nonsensical and unwanted conversations, family problems blah blah ........

What is even more depressing is that many of these employees are highly educated and qualified.... It is sad to see them spending 30 years of their live in between four walls with absolutely no aim...... WORK SHOULD BE CHALLENGING AND EVER DAY MUST BE ONE.....
