We take deep pride in claiming the Tiger is our national animal. Sadly, they could be extinct in few more decades. . Many Tiger reserves in India have not been able to stop the killing and poaching of these exquisite and majestic creatures. Conservationists and the Indian government plan to create eight new reserves to protect the country’s dwindling tiger population.
The survey conducted recently shows that there are only 1411 surviving Tigers in India compared to 4000 odd tigers 5 years back. Shocking figure that owes to heavy poaching and loss of habitat. Now is the government to blame or the poachers ? Seems like by the time a solution will develop there will be no more Tiger's.
Another primary problem is that the tigers are at the top of the food chain and if they will keep dying, there will be a chain reaction which will lead to an increase in the population of other species. This will lead to an ecological imbalance, which could have drastic effects. Seems like people just go to zoo's and look at a tiger and say"wow, what a majestic creature" and go back home not to remember that they are fading. Thus,
There are two types of nature lovers-
1 the ones who like to sit and watch nature and admire it.
2 the other are the people who enjoy nature and also protect it
So which one are you ???????
Here is a poem by william blake :-
The Tiger
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?
In what distant deeps or skies
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand dare seize the fire?
And what shoulder and what art
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And, when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand and what dread feet?
What the hammer? what the chain?
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? what dread grasp
Dare its deadly terrors clasp?
When the stars threw down their spears,
And watered heaven with their tears,
Did He smile His work to see?
Did He who made the lamb make thee?
Tiger, tiger, burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?
William Blake
Just see the beauty of the poem, A poem based on a creature like the Tiger. Look at how William blake has described the Tiger. Its seems very doubtful if we can see these animal around. I pray that Government stop fooling around and do something constructive, otherwise the Tiger will be just another Dodo.......
